At the 2025 Royal Palm Literary Awards, hosted by the Florida Writers Association, Eric C Ross won 1st place in the Flash Fiction category with his story "Incomplete." The story, featured in his anthology titled "Otherworldly," also won "Best Short Prose of the Year."
In 2026, I submitted the book as a whole to the American Fiction Awards hosted by American Book Fest. It made it as one of three finalists out of sixteen entries in the Anthology category.
"Eric Ross's stories are like a dagger wrapped in velvet. You generally don't know he's got you until it's too late."
-Thomas Smith - author of "Something Stirs" and "Other Places".

You can find one of my short stories in the 2026 edition of the Florida Writers Association's annual anthology. Collections 18: Fragments was released on October 23rd, 2026, and you can buy a copy here. You can also follow the FWA on Amazon to be notified of future releases. I intend to submit a story to the anthology every year, and I will also announce if I'm accepted every time.
My story is called "Money Can't Buy Happiness," and it's about teenage love, addiction, and loss in a world where emotions can be literally bottled and traded.
It was originally named "Talk is Cheap," but I think the new title embodies the theme much better.
